Mediation aims to reach a settlement that is acceptable to all parties in dispute. Its objective for the mediator is to facilitate parties reaching settlement agreement within a fixed time frame and for a fixed cost. It is a private meeting and the outcome is confidential. Unlike going to court, the parties involved are in control. The settlement agreement reached and signed is an enforceable binding contract.
